Maharashtra has tradition of making Forts of stone and mud in Diwali.
Children get to know about our forts, It's an activity to spend quality time in holidays.
But now a days due to flat system people don't get enough space to build fort so ready made is the best option for that.
Sinhagad
Rajgad, Raigad, Lohagad
We had lot of space in our Gallery, so every year we try and make different forts. The picture are made of mud.The soldiers are called Mavalas. So the word is in practise is'Diwaliche Mavle" or 'Chitra'
To get greenery on fort we have to make the fort 5 to 6 days before Diwali and put mustard seeds on the fort. So that the small plants start coming on them and we get a real effect.
Last year we have to compromise on green rangoli to get greenery effect on fort.
